Manu National Park 4 Days 3 Nights is an extensive park in southeastern Peru, which spans the highlands of the Andes, the cloud forests and the jungle of the plains. It is known for its rich biodiversity, especially for its hundreds of species of birds, such as the macaws, which feed on clay deposits.
Itinerary
- Day 01: CUSCO – CLOUD FOREST – HARPY LODGE:
Leaving from Cusco very early in the morning on Our comfortable bus. Ascending to the high mountain area of Paucartambo. On the way, we visit the funeral towers or chullpas of Ninamarca. The bus then descents through the mysterious cloud forest full of beautiful orchids, heliconias, and primitive ferns. Stopping to give you an opportunity to witness Cock of the Rocks (Rupicola Peruvian) mating ritual. There are also possibilities to observe the Amazonian Umbrella bird (Cephalopteros Ornatus), Trogons (Trogon sp.), and many more. With luck the only South American bear, the Spectacled Bear (Tremarctos ornatus). In the afternoon we arrive at the village of Atalaya, where we take our boat 30 minutes by Alto Madre de Dios River to our typical lodge. Showers and toilets are available. - Day 02: HARPY LODGE:
After a delicious breakfast in the morning, the group organizes to walk to our viewpoint to observe the villages around the river and walking inside the jungle around the lodge where you can see many species of birds, insects, and many other small animals Night in Lodge. Showers and toilets shared. - Day 03: HARPY LODGE – PARROTS CLAY LICK – MACHUHUASI LAKE:
Very early in the morning. We take the boat for proximally 25 minutes to the parrot lick, where we can see the green parrots and also some birds or small animals after seeing the parrots we will come back to the lake Machuhuasi where there are balsa rafts to go a long the lake for 2 hours. Where you can see other species of the bird-like hoatzin, then we will walk one hour more inside the jungle. Nigh in Lodge. Showers and Toilet shared. - Day 04: HARPY LODGE – ATALAYA – CUSCO:
After a delicious breakfast unfortunately we will come back by boat to the port Atalaya after that we will take the bus to return to Cusco. Transfer to the hotel.
